
Pacquiao vs Clottey : Catchweight Match?
Team Pacquiao member told their plan to get a catchweight match for the March 13 boxing fight between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey. After it a report that trainer Freddie Roach said that there will be no catchweight.
"We will push for the 145 [lbs.] catchweight," Jeng Gacal said , the Pacquiao Lawyer told the ABS-CBN morning show program.
According to him the fight between Pacquiao vs Clottey is already sealed but there's still a possibility of a catchweight match.
Looking to Joshua Clottey and Miguel Cotto they are naturally bigger than Manny Pacquiao.
Freddie Roach, on the otherhand, said that Manny Pacquiao was comfortable at the weight of 147 lbs.
"It will be at 147. There’s no catchweight" Roach told FightHype.com.
A catchweight describes the weight limit for a fight that does not fall in traditional limits for weight classes like what happen in the Miguel Cotto bout against Manny Pacquiao.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao's Attorney mentioned that the fight against Clottey will not get in the way of Pacquiao’s plan running in Sarangani Province for congressional seat.
