Pacquiao-Cotto Post Fight Interview With Larry Merchant
"Too fast... too powerful... too good again"

This is another victory of Manny Pacquiao and this marks another stunning and bigger opportunities in his boxing career. Pacquiao once more prove that he is "The Greatest" fighter in the history of boxing as he achieved his seventh title - the "WBO Welterweight title" after defeating Miguel Cotto tonight. He fought in different weight classes and from the day he fought with Hector Velazquez way back in 2005, he remains undefeated.
Larry Merchant interviewed him after the fight and asked about his plan in the first two rounds because the fight is close and it's a give and take situation. Pacquiao said that they actually had a plan. He said their plan is not to hurry the fight so that's why he was very careful in the early rounds. He also added that they knew Cotto is a tough one so he have to control the fight first. He was looking for a knock out punch in the early rounds so that's why he was not really throwing lot of punches.
Merchant then asked about his plan on the eighth and ninth round wherein Cotto seems to be retrieving at that moment. Pacquiao said that he was careful on those rounds as well because he knows that Cotto is looking for one big shot to win in this fight. He didn't want that to happen so he still watching his steps.
Merchant knows that Pacquiao doesn't want the fight to go with the judges' decision. He asked Pacquiao if he was correct. Pacquiao said that he didn't really want the fight to rely on the scorecards because this is not actually their plan. If you'll remember Roach predicted that Pacquiao is going to finish it on the 9th round but that didn't happen.
Merchant then asked about his next opponent but Pacquiao didn't mention anyone. Merchant wants to know if he wants to fight with Mayweather Jr but Pacquiao said that his promoter, Bob Arum, will be the one to decide about that.
After a long interview with Pacquiao, Merchant then goes to Freddie Roach to ask some quick questions. Roach admitted that he was worried with Pacquiao during the fight because he can see how tough Cotto was. If you have watched the fight you should notice that even though Cotto was knocked down twice and his face is oozing with blood, he was so brave to finish all the rounds.
Merchant asked the same question to Roach regarding Pacquiao's next opponent. If Pacquiao didn't mention any name then Roach is so determined that he likes Mayweather Jr. to be their next target.
Lastly, Merchant interviewed Cotto. What we can say is that Cotto is the humblest and most respectful fighter of all. They said that he is the man who doesn't smile but he was the most generous fighter of all Pacquiao's opponents. Cotto was already badly hurt during the tenth round, his father was already talking to their team to stop the fight, and his wife and kids went out so that they'll not see him in bad condition, but he was so brave to go on 'till the end of Round 12.
Cotto was asked to rate Pacquiao from his previous opponents and he said that Pacquiao is one of the best boxer of all time. He also admitted that he didn;t actually know where the punches coming from.
