Thiago Silva: Replacement For Rampage To Fight Against Rashad Evans In UFC 108
Now that UFC 107 match between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad "Sugar" Evans is canceled, you may be wondering who will be the next in line for Evans.
At first UFC 107 was off because Jackson's needs time to prepare for he is still filming his "A-Team" movie. But when Jackson had announced yesterday that he's done fighting, his match against Evans was no longer a reality. UFC 107 main event is replaced by B.J. Penn vs. Diego Sanchez bout. Evans is likely to appear in UFC 108. But who will be his opponent?
MMA Fanhouse have interviewed Rashad Evans and he revealed that he could face Thiago Silva, the so-called "Knockout King" in UFC 102. He said that they may appear in UFC 108 or maybe early in 2010 which he still can't confirm. Silva will be a good match for Evans if ever this bout will be approved. Silva have a spectacular performance in UFC 102 where he defeated Keith Jardine by TKO 95 seconds in Round No. 1. Not only that, Silva and Evans have only 1 loss in their professional MMA career. And what a coincident! Their first loss came at the hands of Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida who is currently the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Lyoto defeated both of them by Knockout (KO). Lyoto defeated Silva in UFC 94 last January 31, 2009 while he defeated Evans in UFC 98 last May 23, 2009.
Do you think Evans vs Silva will be a better match than Jackson vs Evans? What do you think?
